About Us - Changing Lives with Love

Welcome

Welcome to Community Ministries International. We hope that your organization will find the help and resources it needs to make a greater impact on the lives of real people. Let's change lives with love, together!

Dr. Michael Stewart, Executive Director of CMI

Director's Message

Over two decades ago when I left my home as refugee to Canada as a young girl, I always envisioned that someday people like me, would have a better experience in resettling than of I did.

In 2005, I met with my first refugee family and listened to their needs and understood them at a heart level. That year we assisted 10 individuals in their resettlement in the Bay Area with the help and assistance of volunteers from the local agencies, churches, businesses, and charitable organizations. Soon after, CMI was born to serve an even a larger group of people and to provide access to a larger pool of shared resources.

I invite you to partner with CMI to help change the lives of real people with love, kindness and understanding.  I look forward to what we all can do working together for our communities to be filled with hope, love and the grace of God among all peoples.

Values

Local Leadership
We believe that local leadership is best suited to strategize and implement community services. CMI seeks to assist by enhancing platforms for needed community projects.

Open Communication

We seek to learn how we can be of the most help by asking questions and listening. With the right partners we will hear the right kind of strategies and services that can make a real difference in the lives of people.

Vibrant Partnership

We value partnership with other like-minded individuals and organizations. No one organization is capable of meeting the vast needs of those in distress. We are open to creative partnerships that expand the reach of community services and stretch every financial resource to do the most good for the most people.

Everyday People

We are not a policy research agency. We are passionate about projects that assist real people at the ground level. CMI community projects will always reflect this value.
